Obama!

Returning from a jungle trek in north Sumatra we had barely finished saying goodbye to one set of apes and monkeys when we discovered it was also time to say goodbye to the world's most powerful ape and say hello to America's new president. Congratulations Obama.

By the way, is anyone (apart from our parents) still reading our blog and looking at Zoe's lovely pictures? We're feeling a bit unloved...

Don't feel unloved mes dears... you are at the top of my daily news page! I eagerly await your periodic missives.

Missing you a lot in fact. I was making a mental list of things the other day that I missed about you two being gone:
-Zoe's laugh
-Hannah's drive to explore and try new things
-Zoe's cooking
-Hannah's analysis of situations
-Local pubs on the weekends
-Happy hour on Friday evening at Yum Yums
-Engagins in intelligent and thoughtful conversations

And there were many more, I just stopped my list after a while. Anyway, just so you know, you're missed! :)

I miss you! And can't wait for you both to come back, annoyingly tanned and relaxed and with hundreds, if not thousands, of holiday photos. Which I can't check out right now as Flickr appears to be blocked in UAE. Looking forward to your return... Abby xx

We all miss you here back in rain sodden London. The dog's grown up (does not chase bikes) and I've got loads of things to tell you but you know me - I like to chat not type so hope you appreciate this effort. My fingers already feel they've covered 3500 kms .
Your photos are great. Fantastic colours. I'm so looking forward to sitting round at yours or ours with a slide show and hearing all your stories.

I'm playing at Chats palace Friday 21st double bill with my group and guitar duo BUT before then off to Rome this Friday 'til Tuesday for Sarah's birthday.
Ooops just realised this is your blog not mine so will sign off now...
LOTS OF LOVE xxx

Don't worry about the fact that people are not leaving messages on your blog, it's not a great indicator. I don't get a great deal on mine, I tend to get more emails, but I know there are far more people out there reading. So long as you update it regularly people will keep coming back to read it.

It good to see there are a few more cyclists out there touring too, I have hardly seen any in the last few months.

All the best on your travels,

John

Aw, thanks for all the sweet comments and emails. They came at a good time (see new post).

To Abby's point about our suntans, we'll let you into a secret... only our hands are tanned!

Of course you're loved! For me, it's just that I tend to go a few weeks between checking the blog so sorry about the late show of support!
